Welcome to Upward Creativity Expression, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring and uplifting our community since 1997. Founded by Rev. Donald and Benita Smith, we focus providing essential support to underserved and disadvantaged populations. Our programs critical social determinants of health, offering services such as job training, health and education literacy, counseling, tutoring, and childcare. Join us in making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

Our Story

Upward Creativity Expression was initially organized to provide jobs for the disenfranchised. The program was designed for homeless persons to provide employment services, both training and job placement. All with the intent of assisting them to enter the job market and build skills needed to become economically self sufficient.

Since that time, we have grown into addressing social determinants as a whole that include but are not limited to health literacy, equal opportunities, tutoring programs, resume building, and job placement with the goal of promoting economic self-sufficiency.

As we continue to strength our community by offering services critical for controlling ones destiny, building working relationships with likeminded community organizations and community leaders; we invite you to join us in efforts to enhance our community and support others in reaching their full potential, because everyone matters.
